NASA Space Shuttle STS-118 Mission Set: Crew Photo, Patch, Pin, and Sticker

Part of the Nate Bostic Engineering Collection

A portion of the Space Coast Collectibles archive originates from the estate of Nate E. Bostic (1930-2007), a Senior Field Engineer involved in construction services supporting infrastructure projects at Kennedy Space Center for 40 years on Pad 5.

Bostic worked with contractors connected to shuttle-era facility development, including engineering support roles associated with the construction of the Space Shuttle Processing Control Center. Documentation recovered from the estate includes a construction binder containing 48 sequential photographs documenting the building process of the facility, along with related engineering materials.

A business card identifying Bostic as a Senior Field Engineer with EG&G Florida was found among the materials, providing a clear link between the archive and NASA’s contractor workforce during the Space Shuttle program.

Collections like this offer a rare glimpse into the behind-the-scenes engineering work that made the Shuttle program possible.
